Looking Forward to 2009

Hello and Happy New Year to all of my loyal readers and subscribers!  2008 has come and gone in the blink of an eye and it is now some time for me to reflect.

happy new year 2009 300x200 Looking forward to 2009Many things I wanted to accomplish I didn’t.  Many things I said I wouldn’t do I did anyway.  Many things I said I would do I did do.  So I have a mix of things going on here that were both accomplishments and failures.  I am not afraid to say failure nor admit that I have failed.  If I can learn what not to do because it failed already then I think I am ahead of the game :)

So instead of making new years resolutions, of which based on my past I never keep anyway, I will write out a plan of attack….a success plan of attack with milestones and rewards along the way.  That’s something that I have not been good at.  I think if what I’ve been doing hasn’t been working the best, its time to make a change.  So writing down my plan I will do.

For me, I can’t make a lot of changes at once, I have to take it gradually so that I form habits.  Too much at one time will frustrate me and I will quit.

So know thyself is the point here!

I won’t bore you with a bunch of yak yak about me, because trust me, I can go on on.

But I do want to truly wish you all a Happy and Prosperous New Year!

It has been a tough time for many considering the economic conditions and I also wish those well who have been hit by these hard times.

Let’s all look forward to a much better year in 2009!

Cheers!

I don’t know how you managed to get inside my head but this post sums up my views exactly. I no longer set resolutions at all but write up a plan for the coming year. I like the way you refer to it as a plan of attack. I also set smaller goals along the way to the larger ones. My plan is in a binder with extra paper so there is room for progress reports as I go to see where I am at each week or month.

You know, the way I see it, for the past ump-teen years I have made the same resolutions, and it sticks for a moment in time. I figure if I have been doing the same old tired thing it is time to make a change.

So instead of this resolution thingy that is all the rave every year, I decided to make a plan. Have regular goals to reach weekly and monthly. One of the strategies I am using is simpleology. It is an online diary or should I say goal setting service that helps you put the most important tasks in order. It is completely free and I highly recommend it.

    Good Luck!
