Spreading Yourself Too Thin While Trying to Make Money On The Internet Can Leave You Broke
When you first start learning about how to make money on the internet, temptation can take over and send you to a lot of dark places on the net. For example, you are probably getting bombarded with information about how you can virtually make money overnight.
You see pictures of some guy laying on the beach; he’s all relaxed and sipping on a drink. And all you’ve got to do to be like him is buy ‘XYZ product’ and just push the button. And boom! Money is falling from the sky..ha ha! That is some funny stuff.
I mean if money is going to fall outta the sky on you, why does it always have to involve you giving it away first? Hey, greed can some times get the best of us. The trick is to not give in to EVERY temptation that you THINK will end with overnight success.
Seriously though, do you really think that you can make money on the internet by tomorrow night if you still don’t know what the left and right buttons on your mouse do? Do you really think that success is waiting for you on the other side of the door ‘instantly’ if when I say words like FTP, upload, download, hosting, registrar and domain name they just draw a blank for you?
Straight to the point here…You have to master some basic skills before you can move to the more advanced methods.
That’s one of the tricks I’ve seen. They sell something to you that potentially could work, but you just haven’t crafted enough skills and experience to have the first clue as to what to do.
There are so many different ways to make money on the internet that you can get caught up jumping into too many different things and wind up not making a dime. Setting up and running an internet business itself can be challenging, and with the added pressure of the ‘learning curve’ you will definitely have a lot on your plate.
Master It, Make Money And Then Move On….
That way you will have at least recouped your investment.
The more internet business ventures you get into without mastering each one, or at least getting a very clear understanding of what its about, the more chances you have of spreading yourself too thin and slowing down or even completely halting your progress.
It’s just like when you were a baby. You had to learn how to roll over first, then you crawled, then you walked, and then you ran. Could you imagine a baby trying to run without having learned to even roll over yet? The baby still has other things to learn while he’s preparing himself to start running. He has to learn how to hold his head up, how to control his limbs, how to hold his bottle, and how to communicate.
It will be the same with your business. You have a lot to learn and juggle so start with just one or two streams of income. Master those first, get a good automatic income stream going, and then add more.

These Thieves Sneak In Right Under Your Nose!
Who are these people? Well, they are called focus stealers, and it is an activity, a person, or a thing that takes your focus away from building your business, and frequently in a subtle way. Yes, sometimes your focus can be stolen from right under your nose.
You say stolen right under my nose?
Absolutely and it happens every second of the day. Have you ever been in the middle of a task concentrating intensely, and then the telephone rang? You see a familiar number on the caller id so you pick up the phone. You have the best intentions of only talking for 3 minutes but it turns into 30 minutes.
You finally hang up the phone to get back to your work at hand. But now you have to figure out exactly where you left off. And then you have to build the momentum back up to your level of concentration prior to the phone call. By the time you reach that same point again, it has been another 15 minutes. You have lost 45 minutes on account of a phone call. Situations like this is what I call focus stealers.
You Can’t Turn Back The Hands Of Time
This may not seem like a lot of time to some people, but remember: time is something you can never get back. So if you are like me and still working full time, those 45 minutes can make the difference between what you accomplish today and what you accomplish tomorrow. I prefer accomplishing today rather than tomorrow.
Focus stealers make you spend a considerable amount of time on things that will not bring you a return.
Focusing and achieving your goals are only possible when they are written down. Just ask ANY successful person; and they will confirm this, because they practice this simple procedure with amazing results. Write down your goals, and make sure you read them every day to keep yourself constantly aware of your target.
Successful people practice the art of focus. Without focus, you can’t hit your goal unless it’s by accident. That means that you are swinging and batting at thin air hoping that lady luck beams her light on you. Following something that you dearly want to accomplish without focusing is just leaving your success open to chance.
